Confirmation
Anointed and Sealed with the Spirit
By Thomas H. Morris and Kathy Coffey
Published by Living the Good News, a division of The Morehouse Group
This Confirmation Resource offers candidates a confirmation preparation program based on the Rite of Confirmation itself. The celebration guides the catechesis for the sacrament. "We allow the ritual text itself the lectionary texts, symbols and ritual gestures, and meaning and intention of the rite to tell us what needs to be done to celebrate the rite honestly"
It is a Confirmation Resource that can be used with children, youth and adults preparing for Confirmation. The Resource offers a Leaders Guide, Rituals and Retreats Guide and Journals for each age group. It is presently being used in some parishes in the Diocese of Saint John
Video - Lent -A Time to Forgive by Kathleen Chesto
This video helps us see that Lent allows us to slow down and realize that we are loved for who we are, not for what we do. Parents can accept and love their children, despite their mistakes. We can learn to forgive and accept ourselves as God does, and then offer forgiveness to others.
Book - Lent is for Children by Julie Kelemen
This book is for children in the middle elementary grades. It offers a fun way for our children to learn and understand our Lenten practices. It is filled with activities such as taking a nature walk, baking Eucharistic bread, praying for and feeding the hungry and much more.
New Revised Resources for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
On our Way with Jesus has been revised by Myrtle Power (who many of you will know from her work with NORE in writing the K-6 resources) and Gwen Costello. These two resources offer a leaders guide for the catechist and a Child's book with a Family guide included. When we use these resources, we include the catechist, the child and family in the sacramental preparation. This is a great opportunity to involve families. Copies of these resources are available at the Resource Centre
