On May 9-10, 2008 youth in grades 9, 10, 11, 12 gathered at St. Bridget's Church on the Kingston Penninsula to take time to retreat, to get away from their busy schedules, to concentrate on questions (Who am I? How do I fit in with God and others?) and to be with a great group of youth and leaders for large and small group activities, music, prayer, reconciliation, Eucharist, and lots more!

Many youth took part in Youth Rally 2004 from May 29-30th at the Forest Hill Conference Centre, St. Thomas University!
Steve Angrisanocame from Colorado to visit our Diocese as the musician and presenter. Steve was also at our Youth Rally in 1997 and is well known to many in our Diocese.
He is recognized as one of the most dynamic and effective communicators with youth in the church today. As a musician, composer and storyteller, Steve has shared his music and message at major conferences and events around the world, including World Youth Days in Denver, Paris, Rome and Toronto. Youth recognized that Steve is not just a performer.
Participants related to what he shared, both in story and song. His sharing was a witness of the love and life of Jesus. Many commented on how great it was to be with so many other youth gathered for one reason and to have such a good time meeting others, enjoying music, games, dancing, hearing stories, and for some . . . staying up all night.

Teens in grades 9-12 are very welcome at these retreats! Youth from the Miramchi region join together for a Sprit Filled "Time Out" from their everyday routines with PRAYER, FRIENDS, MUSIC, ACTIVITIES, FOOD, FUN !
Retreats for youth in Grades 9-12 take place in each of the three regions of the Diocese of Saint John.
They were initiated by the Diocesan Catechetical/Youth Ministry Office and continue to be organized by each Regional Office.
The first Diocesan Youth Retreat took place in 1989. Regional Youth Retreats began to meet the growing need of youth for a retreat experience.
The aims for these retreats are:
to give the youth a better sense of self
to build relationships with others
to grow closer to God in a retreat setting
Retreats offer a time out from their everyday lives, prayer, friends, food, activities and fun.
The annual Fredericton Region Youth Retreat was originally scheduled for the spring. It has been re-scheduled for the Fall 2008. Please continue to check this page for dates and details of this retreat as the information becomes available.
